The 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur is an annual fundraising movement that exists to provide the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, the Oncology Ward and the Children’s Ambulatory Service Unit at Campbelltown Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit and associated Outreach service at Camden Hospital with the extra services and equipment they need to assist in the treatment, care and comfort of children and adults dealing with cancer.
In 2023 it was identified from oncology families within Macarthur, that there was a burden on their family life/dynamics with having to travel for treatment to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals (Time, cost, work, schooling, siblings).
The demand to provide chemotherapy and oncology services within the Children’s Ambulatory Service has also been increasing throughout the years. A total of 42 children currently access CAS for oncology support.
Please help raise funds for children accessing cancer services in Macarthur!
The 24Hr Fight Against Cancer Macarthur Big Walk is on October 12 and 13, and the CAS Fairies are just one of the many teams out to fundraise!
