Since 1997, Wakeling's Wheels For Life Program has raised over $1,000,000 providing vital equipment for the benefit of both Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. The program has made possible the acquisition of such items as a ventilation machine, digital weigh chair, mobile X-ray machine, digital surgical cameras and state-of-the-art operating theatre lights.
The program is based on the simple principle of Wakelings allocating $25 to the scheme each time a new or used vehicle is sold. According to Paul "We've always based our business on supporting the community that supports us, and I can't think of a better way of doing just that than through our local hospitals".
Wakeling's latest purchase was an EMG/ nerve conduction test machine and an Erbe endoscopy machine. Both machines will not only go a long way to improving services to the Macarthur community, but also offer a service that is not currently available.
