Thirlmere Festival of Steam 2026

Saturday and Sunday the 16th and 17th of May is gearing up to be an epic weekend with amazing celebrations at the Thirlmere Festival of Steam!

Come and enjoy the popular Eat Street! Barbour RD will be transformed into a food court at the heart of the festival, hosting food trucks and vendours, complimenting fantastic local take away and resturant options! With a mouth watering selection of food from across the globe, Eat Street is a MUST VISIT!

Enjoy a 40-minute steam train ride along the Loop Line from historic Thirlmere Station then find The NSW Rail Museum coming to life with an array of steam, including several historic steam locomotives, live model steam engines, full-size and miniature steam traction engines and a display of vintage machinery. Have a blast at the Bendigo Bank Carnival with a range of rides to excite little and big kids!

Wander through the streets of beautiful Thirlmere Village and browse all the artisan wares on offer! Make sure you are there to cheer on the parade sponsored  at 11am on Sunday!
