Ride your way towards becoming a future Olympian with Council and Macarthur BMX working together to host a series of free BMX Open Hour events at the new Kirkham Park BMX Facility.
The open hour, to next be held on Monday 8 February and Wednesday 17 February from 4.30pm, will allow local children the chance to ride the track while learning all the tips and tricks from experienced BMX coaches.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the event was a chance for local children to try the sport while also test out the new facility. “Council is very proud of stage one of the Kirkham BMX Facility and we are all eager to see many children safely testing themselves on the track,” Cr Fedeli said. “Before doing so it is best to learn from the professionals and this open hour will give local children the confidence to ride down competition standard track and get great tips from Macarthur BMX club’s coaches.
“Thanks to a fantastic partnership between Council and Macarthur BMX, residents will be able to use this state-of-the-art facility under the right guidance. “BMX is such a fantastic growing sport which has been contested in the Olympics since 2008 and I look forward to seeing our local kids learn as much as they can as they aspire to reach the Olympics one day.”
